1. How do I change Visitor visa to Study Permit in Canada?

Here is a success story of a visitor visa holder to study permit in Canada.

Yash Patel is a 23-year-old international student from India, where he completed his high school education in 2015. In 2017, he studied in the United Kingdom and obtained a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Studies at De Montfort University by 2021. Yash has become increasingly interested in biomedical sciences and pursuing a more advanced education to help him develop a great career in this field.

When he visited his brother in Canada in 2019, he became aware of the country’s different educational opportunities in the biotechnology field. He researched the other schools and programs and chose Centennial College’s Biotechnology Advanced program. He has taken undergraduate studies in the same area; thus, this fast-track program is designed to improve his skills and knowledge in both theoretical and practical aspects. He processed his study permit application in India but got refused twice.

He then travelled back to Canada on vacation in 2021 and decided that he wanted to pursue advanced education in the biotechnology field. He researched different agencies that could help him change his visitor status to a student permit. After countless searches and online reviews, he went with the Admission Hub in Toronto.

Since flights are limited due to the pandemic, and it is difficult to travel back to India to process his study permit, he was advised by one of Admission Hub’s agents that he is eligible to apply for a study permit within Canada as stipulated in subsection R215 (1)(f)(iii) of the IRPR: “a foreign national may apply for a study permit after entering Canada if the person is a temporary resident who has a completed a course or program of study that is a prerequisite to their enrolling at a designated learning institution.” He was advised by the Admission Hub office to complete the University and College Pathway Program (UCCP) at St. George International (SGIC), which is required to obtain admission into the Biotechnology program at Centennial College. After completing the prerequisite course, Admission Hub helped him from organizing his application documents and study plan up to the final submission.

Yash’s study application with the Admission Hub was straightforward and easy. Even when he was discouraged that changing his status from visitor to study permit is complicated with his two-visa refusal history, the help and support of Admission Hub, the client proved his genuine intention to learn and changed his status from visitor to international student in Canada.
